REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING

JANUARY 9, 2006

MINUTES

Members Present: Chairman Tammy Brown, Shirley Pinto, Dan Massey, Tammy Wight and Candace Way (3:35 p.m.)

Members Absent: Wade Reece and Alternate Member Larry Wilkins

Staff Present: Chief Scott Sutton and Deputy Clerk Shayne Wheeler

Others Present: Marion Hamel and Lynn Collins

Meeting Called to Order

Ms. Brown called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. in the Maggie Valley Town Hall Boardroom.

Approval or Correction of Minutes/ Review/ Discussion on Update of Calendar of Events

The spelling of Ms. Hamel’s name should be corrected.

The letter to Mr. Lummus should reflect December 2005 rather than 2006

The following events should be added to the PRFAC calendar:

Maggie Valley Fall Arts & Crafts Festival 10/28- 10/30/2006

Christmas Parade 12/2/06

CORRECTIONS NOTED, MS. WIGHT MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES.

MR. MASSEY SECONDED THE MOTION.

MOTION CARRIED.

Marion Hamel Representing Wade Reece

Ms. Hamel distributed a letter from the previous Town Manager regarding his recollection of Mr. Reece being promised free events each year.

The Committee members felt this was a decision for the Board of Aldermen.

The issue will be sent before the Town Council to be resolved.

Chief Sutton will check with Eagle Nest Entertainment about scheduled events.

The PRFAC encourages Business owners and the Town Council to attend their meetings.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:05 p.m. on motion by Ms. Pinto.
