An Ordinance Authorizing the Collection of Solid Waste Fees

Whereas; The Town of Maggie Valley began providing solid waste collection for the residents of Maggie Valley July 1, 2002.

Whereas; The Town of Maggie Valley took bids for the service of collection

Whereas; The Town got the most fair and reasonable rate available through the bidding process

Whereas; The Town makes no profit from such collection and fees but desires only to provide a service to the residents at cost.

NOW BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Maggie Valley:

1. Solid Waste Collection Fees is to be billed at the same time as property taxes are billed.

2. Solid Waste Collection Fees are to be payable in the same manner as property tax

3. Solid Waste Collection Fees are to be collected in the same manner as delinquent personal or real property taxes.

4. Delinquent Solid Waste Collection Fees are a lien on real property as described in NC General Statutes 160A-314

Adopted and effective this the 19 day of November, 2002.
