The Administration Department is the hub of the Town Hall and the front line
for citizen interaction. The Department consists of the Town Manager, Town Clerk (Clerk’s office), Finance Officer and Executive Assistant. This staff greets, directs and assists the people that come into Town Hall.

Administration handles all of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax collection, tax billing, issuance of ABC Municipal licenses and renewal and notification of same, tracking and receiving of State Revenues, sewer tap investigation, collection and tracking along with printing the associated maps for the parcels involved, collection of zoning permit fees and periodic zoning permit issuance, including parcel map printing and investigation related to permit issuance. Yard waste, white goods pick-up and issuance of containers for solid waste orders are accepted.  All mail, both outgoing and incoming is handled, along with distribution to all departments including the Police Department, Senior Nutrition Center and Public Library.

One of the most time-consuming functions of the Department is the investigation, certification and documentation of annexed properties within the surrounding area. All petitions for annexation must go through numerous processes and Board meetings before being granted by the Board. Numerous agencies must be notified of each annexation, as required by law. The annexation process adds needed tax base to the Town’s income.

The Administration Department assists all departments and often fills in by issuing various certificates and forms and explaining Town requirements.  Our Department maintains all records for the Town, requiring each staff member to have full knowledge and understanding of many aspects of operation. Cross training is imperative in our smooth functioning department.

Administration serves the Mayor, Board of Aldermen, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustments by preparing agenda packets, issuing the minutes of all meetings, handling correspondence, scheduling meetings and notification of all media as required by law. Also, the Community Pavilion rental is scheduled and recorded and the fees collected.
